A traditional heavyweight fisherman's Breton smock in red brick colour by French Saint James label. This 100% cotton drill V-neck shirt with an oxford collar is also known as "vareuse" in French with the following features:
- an internal pocket on the chest to prevent fishermen's small belongings from falling overboard
- a button fastener on the inside so that you do not catch nets and ropes while on the job
- side slits
- a branded tag on one arm
It is above all a work garment, perfect to cover up and favoured not only by sailors but also by artists and people doing outdoor activities.
Note: all our V neck smocks are the traditional Breton design made in the required thick canvas fabric. In red brick, we stock three different makes solely to give customers options in terms of pricing and branding. Colour varies also, see our image titled "Colour comparison". The smock of this product listing is labelled as No3: - Fisherman's Smock, Red Brick (No2) - Traditional Smock, Brick (No1) Beware, sizing is not equivalent between brands ! So check the garment's measurements to compare them, not the size label. |
